I Finally Did Intervals

Since last January when I started my half marathon training, intervals were part of my running schedule.  I kept putting them off and decided that today was the day to finally incorporate intervals into my workout.

I headed to the local high school since they have a track.  I figured this would be the easiest way for me to start out.  I wanted to keep things simple so I did one fast lap around the track followed by two slow jogs around the track.  I did this three times, I figured that was a good number for being my first interval workout.

After heading home I went to the gym to get some strength training in for my legs.  I did a few quick exercises and headed home.

Nothing too crazy, because I still have gymnastics class later on tonight.  Speaking of gymnastics, I’m super excited for tonight!  I felt much better last time than I did our first day in the advanced class so I’m hoping with my fears a little more subsided, I’ll be able to accomplish even more tonight!

  1. wow, that’s great that you’re doing all these workouts! sprints are always so much harder to me than long-distance running!

  2. This reminds me that I really need to start running intervals! I love the challenge you can get in a shorter period of time. They always wear me out but feel great!
